Attack On Titan: 5 MCU Characters Who Could Survive A Titan Assault (& 5 That Couldn't)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has many competent and skilled characters who have navigated precarious situations. Both the heroes and villains have displayed remarkable prowess throughout the dozens of films that have been produced, often with intense collateral damage.

However, they have seldom faced towering adversaries, especially those with unique physiologies such as the pure titans from the Attack On Titan universe. By placing them in Eren's situation during the first attack on Shiganshina by Bertholdt and Reiner, we can appreciate how they would navigate one of the most unprecedented disasters in anime history.

10 DIE: Falcon's Wings Wouldn't Protect Him From Abnormals

Falcon's wings may facilitate his escape well, though they'd also instill an artificial sense of confidence that would be turned against the Avenger. Although many titans are landlocked, abnormals are capable of leaping through the air at alarming speeds.

Considering that Falcon would likely be trying to help civilians evacuate as a first priority, he'd be unprepared for such an unprecedented attack. Without the strength to fend off a pure titan or the durability to resist them, his death would be ensured.

9 SURVIVE: Quicksilver's Speed Would Make Him Virtually Untouchable

Quicksilver was able to move so fast that even the franchise's most astute heroes such as Iron Man and Captain America were not able to react to him adequately. Considering that the titans are relatively sluggish compared to the velocities that the speedster is able to attain, not even abnormals would be able to reach him.

The only conceivable way that Quicksilver might perish is if he thrusts himself in someone else's way to save their lives as he did in Age of Ultron. However, considering that the giants are far more underwhelming than the titular AI in speed and caliber, this shouldn't be an issue.

8 DIE: The Red Skull Lacks The Speed & Resources To Escape The Titans

The Red Skull's signature pistol wouldn't even halt a titan considering how they don't abide by the conventional rules of human physiology. Though he was strong enough to grapple with Captain America, his brawn is hardly sufficient against brutes who could crush buildings.

Additionally, the HYDRA master's comparatively subpar mobility would render him an easy target for the titans to pick off. Without advanced weaponry at his disposal or agents to answer his beck and call, he'd quickly find himself another casualty in Shiganshina's destruction.

7 SURVIVE: Ant-Man Could Shrink Himself Until He Was Beneath The Titans' Notice

The easiest way for Ant-Man to circumvent the titans would be if he were to shrink himself beyond their perception. Considering he could fit inside a keyhole, they would be likely to stumble past him if he willed them to.

Alternatively, Scott could use Pym particles to enhance his size and contend with the giants directly. Considering that he can also shrink them with his projectiles, not even Reiner would provide a meaningful challenge.

6 DIE: Loki Has Proven Vulnerable To Physical Force

Loki has a notable vulnerability to direct physical confrontation, as proven through his defeats by Thor and the Hulk. In this instance, he would be unable to manipulate his adversaries against each other or control them with the Mind Stone (as only the Beast, Female, or Founding titan can bend the giants to their will).

While his ability to create illusions would be marginally useful in distracting some titans, it wouldn't account for their raw number advantage of significantly higher speed. Subsequently, the God of Tricks has no certain means of escape.

5 SURVIVE: Thor Has Abundant Physical Strength & Excellent Striking Power

Thor is perhaps the most capable character of the MCU to not only avoid pure titans but also directly defeat them. In service to Odin, he fought dozens of campaigns against giants and even brought Thanos to his knees despite the villain's fully charged Infinity Gauntlet.

When using Mjolnir or Stormbreaker, he could unleash a widespread electrical attack that obliterated most of Wakanda's invaders. It follows that he could not only escape the pure titans but also single-handedly stop their invasion.

4 DIE: Whiplash Has Offensive Power But Would Quickly Become Overwhelmed

Whiplash was a mercenary hired by Justin Hammer to kill Tony Stark. His electric weapons were formidable and deadly, capable of cleaving cars in half with a single flick of his wrist. This entails that he could hamstring many of the titans that might pursue him.

However, he can only attack a maximum of two targets simultaneously, and a titan will only die if he strikes out the nape of their neck. Consequently, he'd soon find himself overwhelmed by mutilated giants since he cannot effectively flee from them.

3 SURVIVE: Iron Man Has Access To High Powered Rounds & Fantastic Mobility

Iron Man would provide a wonderful counter to the titan threat for the many means he has of thwarting it. Not only does his armor permit flight, it protects him from the titans' physical attacks and allows him to break free of them if he finds himself in their clutches.

Additionally, his ensemble is complete with dozens of high-caliber artillery shells that would emulate an advanced version of Hange's thunder spear. Subsequently, he's equipped not only to contend with the marauding pure titans but also Reiner and Bertholdt.

2 DIE: Gamora's Assassin Techniques Would Be Worthless Against Titans

Gamora's skills as an assassin have served her well and guaranteed her survival under tenuous circumstances. However, her gear and weaponry are not suited to defeat titans, as they rely on precise attacks rather than raw destructive caliber.

Though her mobility surpasses those of typical humans, it pales in comparison to the bounding strides of giants. Since she lacks Drax's strength, the fight would be over as soon as a titan wrapped its fingers around her torso and prepared for its next meal.

1 SURVIVE: Thanos Has Defeated A Fellow Giant Like The Hulk Even Without The Infinity Gauntlet

Thanos was an enormously powerful alien warlord who proved that he didn't need the Infinity Gauntlet to defeat his enemies. He was strong enough to defeat the Hulk in melee combat (who in turn could stop a massive alien juggernaut by himself) and skilled enough to contend with Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor simultaneously.

When armed with his double-edged sword, none of the titans could scratch him. Any attempts to stop the Mad Titan's retreat would be met with swift and punitive retribution.
