WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Legacies Season 3, Episode 16, "Fate's a Bitch, Isn't It?," which aired Thursday on The CW.
Legacies Season 3 finale sees MG and Kaleb getting their chance to become Mystic Falls' newest -- and only -- vampire superhero team, Sound and Fury. Initially, Alaric sends the pair on a mission to cover up the tracks of their former classmates -- Cleo and Landon -- who broke into a Leonardo da Vinci exhibit for a tool to defeat Malivore.
Kaleb wipes the security guard's memory of the event, and MG finds Cleo's lost motel key card, giving the junior detectives a lead on where to find the legendary muse and the former phoenix. However, their plans to find Cleo -- who Kaleb wants to patch things up with and potentially ask out again -- and Landon go awry when another dire event happens in their small town, which requires the teen heroes' attention and unique, powerful skills.
As the pair drive to find Cleo and Landon, Kaleb confesses his feelings for the muse to MG. He wants to tell her he's sorry, and he wants her to know that she makes him want to open his heart. Throughout the three seasons of Legacies, Cleo is the first one to really be a potential and meaningful romantic relationship for Kaleb; however, he never gets the chance to tell her.
On the way to the motel where Cleo and Landon were hiding, the vampire duo -- also possibly known as Hustle and Flow, as the jury is still out on their official name -- come across a fiery car wreck. The duo knows that if they stop to help, it'll sabotage their chances at finding their classmates, but the two jump into action.
Ultimately, the dynamic duo saves the lives of several Mystic Falls citizens; however, while they save the day, Cleo is placed in ultimate danger. Although Cleo thought she was with Landon this entire time, it turns out that she was with Malivore, who's using Landon as a vessel. In a campy, surprise shot, audiences even see an enlarged Landon mouth swallowing the muse whole as Alaric arrives at the motel.
Unfortunately, this means anyone who knew Cleo before cannot remember her, which includes Kaleb. On Kaleb and MG's way back from the car wreck, MG asks Kaleb who he was supposed to tell his romantic speech to, yet Kaleb has no memory of this, and he doesn't remember his favorite muse. However, Hope is not at all lost, as she clearly remembers Cleo and performs a ritual to bring her memory back to the Salvatore School -- leaving plenty of room for Season 4 to explore Cleo's return and Kaleb hopefully getting a chance to confess his love for her.
