Amazon Prime Gaming confirms that it will offer Battlefield I and Battlefield V for free to all subscribers.

Announced via Twitter, all Amazon Prime Gaming subscribers will be able to claim a free PC copy of Battlefield I between July 21 and Aug. 4. Fans who'd rather dip their toes into World War II will need to wait for Aug. 2 when they can claim a free copy of Battlefield V. The games will need to be redeemed through Origin, Electronic Art's dedicated launcher for its catalog of games.

It should be noted that Prime Gaming subscribers that accept this offer will only receive the standard version of either game. Battlefield I featured significant post-launch content that will need to be purchased separately. As for Battlefield V, most of its DLC content is available for free to all players.

The offer of both recent Battlefield games is likely to promote Electronic Arts and DICE's upcoming shooter Battlefield 2042. Announced in June, the next iteration of the military shooter will take players to the near future and will include a variety of high-tech gadgets, weapons and vehicles. Fans can expect more information on Battlefield 2042 during Electronic Art's online showcase EA Play Live, which airs on July 22.
