There are plenty of bachelors and bachelorettes to choose from in Stardew Valley, but if you're looking for someone helpful, fun and who is a bit of a gaming nerd, Abigail is the gal for you. She may seem like an off-putting choice at first as she's one of the villagers who isn't a fan of the farmer moving in at first but can quickly become a best friend and a wife, regardless of the player's gender. The best part is that she's a very useful spouse who's not difficult to romance and even comes with her own Super Nintendo.
Abigail lives at Pierre's General Store with her dad Pierre and her mother Caroline, although there are rumors that her true father may actually be the Wizard. She's a bit gothic in her style and that she loves Spirits Eve, Fall, old forests, monsters and tends to be a little quieter. As a wife, she gives the player great gifts such as Void Essence, Amethyst, Cherry Bombs, Crab Cakes and more -- things that are worth money or actually useful to the game. First, however, a little romance will be in order.
To give Abigail presents, the player needs to find her first. Most days, she can be found around her house or hanging out around the village. In Summer there is some deviation. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays she'll be by the Train Platform from 11 AM – 2 PM, then go to the Mountian lake until 5:30 PM, when she'll head home. In the Fall she roams a little more, sitting on the pier from 12 PM to 6 PM on Mondays. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays she stands by the Bus Stop from 1:30 PM to 5 PM. During the Winter she tends to stay indoors or around the town. Every Sunday, regardless of the season and provided it's not raining, Abigail will hang out by the Wizard's Tower from 2 PM until 8 PM.
There are a few changes on certain days or with six or more hearts with Sebastian. On the 6th or 16th of any season, she can be found on the Mountain playing her flute from 3:30 PM until 8 PM. When friends with Sebastian and on the 11th or 25th of any season but Winter, she'll be hanging out in Sebastian's room from 11 AM until 5 PM.
Like everyone else, start with gifts. She has quite a few loves, although a few of them will require a kitchen to cook in -- the Banana Pudding, Blackberry Cobbler, Chocolate Cake and Spicy Eel. However, there are some easier options available, such as Pufferfish, Pumpkins and Amethysts. Amethysts are the easiest gift to provide since they're easily available in the Mine and can be gathered at any point in the game. In Fall, Pumpkins are another easy option since the farmer can grow them as much as they like. If those items aren't on hand, Abigail does like Quartz, which is even easier to come across while mining. Just be warned, she's a hungry gal who may eat whatever she's given.
If the Community Center is completed and the Movie Theater has moved in, the player may take Abigail to see movies. Her favorites are It Howls In The Rain and Mysterium, both horror films. Players can also get her snacks, her favorites being Rock Candy and Stardrop Sorbet. If those movies aren't playing, she also likes Journey Of The Prairie King, Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World, The Brave Little Sapling and Wumbus.
There are a few questions Abigail will ask where certain answers yield friendship. The first is on a Sunday after the two-heart event, where she'll ask about life after death. Responding with "ceasing to exist" or "coming back as spooky ghosts" will earn friendship. During a Summer Sunday, she'll ask where the player would vacation; responding "in a cave or forest" will please her. On a Fall Sunday, she'll ask about dying her hair. Suggesting anything besides doing nothing will earn points. Finally, on a Winter Sunday, she'll ask about her drawings and the player just needs to respond positively. At 10 Hearts, Abigail will be ready for marriage.
