Build Divide - #00000 (Code Black), the multimedia project by Aniplex, Yūhodō and LINDEN FILMS, has announced the main cast for its anime release.
Otaku Mode revealed that Yuto Uemera will play Teruhito Kurabe, the protagonist of the new series. He is joined alongside Sayumi Watabe as Sakura Banka, Aoi Koga as Hiyori Tori, Yu Serizawa as Kikka and Atsushi Tamaru as Naomitsu Enjo.
The story takes place in New Kyoto, where the newly governing "King" determines one’s status by the person’s skill in Build Divide. Rumor has it that should a player defeat the King in the game, that player would be granted any wish they desire. In order to challenge the King, they need to participate in the trading card game battle Rebuild and complete a "key."
With a specific goal in mind, Teruhito seeks to challenge the King. With the guidance of a mysterious girl named Sakura, Teruhito and his friends are thrown into the Build Divide world and must hone their skills at the game in the hopes of defeating the King and being granted their wish.
Kakegurui author Homura Kawamoto and younger brother Hikaru Muno are the creators of the upcoming anime series. Aniplex, card design company Yūhodō and animation studio LINDEN FILMS are in charge of bringing this multimedia project to life. Build Divide is Aniplex’s first trading card game with an original anime.
Both the first cours (quarter of the year) of the anime and trading card game are set to release in October 2021, with the second cours coming in April 2022.
