While Avatar: The Last Airbender may have ended with Season 3, the story of Aang in his friends continued in several series from Dark Horse Comics. And while the show may have pit Aang against such deadly threats as Fire Lord Ozai and Combustion Man, there's no one yet who has matched General Old Iron. In this video, we're going to break down just what you need to know about General Old Iron and why he's so deadly.
First appearing in 2014's "The Rift " storyline, General Old Iron was created by Gene Luen Yang, Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko and Gurihiru. An incredibly powerful being enclosed in armor, General Old Iron is characterized as a very angry and close-minded spirit that doesn't want to have anything to do with humans. So when Aang and General Old Iron finally cross paths, the spirit is able to get the Avatar to do something that he absolutely abhors: Take a life.
